approx. 200+ flock feeding in and around recently harvested cauliflower crop. I didn't appreciate just how 'nervous' these birds are, they certainly didn't appreciate my 'stalking' of them to get better pics.
As luck would have it, the spot that I picked to observe from also produced...
2 Gray Partridge (flushed from the same cauliflower field)
1 G.S. Woodpecker in the trees behind me.
2 Mute Swan in a low-level flypast, the sound of the wings beating was almost deafening!
Forgot to mention: also in trees behind me was a single Yellowhammer and a pair of Goldfinch's - all in all quite a colourful 5 minute break from my chores
