A Great Northern Diver, moulting out of summer plumage, is present on Thurlby pit (next to Swinderby aerodrome). Showing well this morning, though it spends long periods underwater when feeding.
Found by David Jenkins yesterday evening.

Thanks for the call Andy, I decided to go for it today despite being on the coast. The bird was favouring the south-eastern side of this very large piece of water and generally showed at quite long range. It was good to see 'farmer Ron' and Freddy at Thurlby.
No sign of the Richards Pipit at Saltfleet in a 45 minute search this morning but it could well still be around as I didn't enter the stubble field.

Many thanks for putting the GND on the web, Andy. It was still there this afternoon (3.00-4.00pm) (Monday), frequenting mainly the NE and E areas of the pit. A good bird to see, especially in October.
Regards,

Freddy
