Cetti's on Waters' Edge this morning and a singing male on Pasture Road; there should be others in places such as eg Huttoft, Whisby, Kirkby --are people looking or rather listening? also a 4, a 5 and two unseen calling flocks of Crossbills moved west over Barton pits today--- |

Obviously its alright for gpc to criticise lincs birders, for not listening and looking out for cettis, but when i fire back it gets removed to chat, why has gps comments knocking lincs birders not been removed to chat????as obviously the comments he is making are very insulting, assuming that everybody is deaf dumb and blind-hence my humerous rant,i would like the administraters to explain themselves as surely we have the right to answer the critical, cynical opinions of this birder?? Me thinks ye look too deep dodger---sceptical yes critical surely not---and I did find the Russian comments deeply insulting/funny (delete whichever seem appropriate)--- now if I was being really critical I might point out that I would do an analysis of the Lincolnshire records of this species for the web site but as members are apparently prevented from accessing LBC archives then that is currently impossible; a debate on the use of records submitted to the Lincs Bird Report would be interesting and maybe even change the course of history; eg why is there no online access to the archives for members? do people actually know how the LBC works and would they submit their records if they only thought that they would gather dust for millenia and not be used to provide accessible analyses and reports/ papers for members to read and enjoy? OR is no-one actually bothered any more? |

hi GPc,I agree with the above, going back to the recent input on this forum,The thing is Graham,we do try to fiind things and cettis being quite a distinct call,i was just surprised/if not slightly shocked, at your remarks,my humour was a little sharp but was a reaction to your comments, but was also meant as a bit "o fun and nothing more graham,as someone said,on this forum, we all get too serious sometimes............ |

I wonder what a "female type" Cettis looks like |

it looks pretty much like a male type but it calls with a loud chink and does a rattle somewhat reminiscent of an animated Wren but does not sing the dut dut duuduududuuuuduu song |

I have to agree with the previous messages, i know exactely what GPC was saying but i nearly fell off my chair at the computer at the reply. I was going to reply but i have only just returned from the naughty step, but i was awake giggling for many a minute before retiring SUPERB. That is not to in any way to say chris's reply was due to not knowing the call of cettis ( FEMALE TYPE LIKE A MALE ) it was just the situation and my twisted mind. BACK TO THE NAUGHTY STEP.
