Spent 2.5 hours this morning watching from just north of Ram farm. The Black Kite was in the area the whole time, mainly hunting over the fields just north of the belt of trees running from the road to Ram farm. Also seen:- 3 Whooper Swans, 2 adults & 1 imm, flew NE. 2 Common Buzzards (Black Kite seen grappling with these, in the air, several times). 2 Kestrels. 1 Merlin, hunting and then sat on overhead cables for c10 minutes. c20 Skylarks on stubble field. Several flocks of Fieldfares, with a few Redwings, over. c10 Yellowhammers on stubble field. |
