Mablethorpe S end 09:15-12:15 with Andy, Steve and Keith Red-throated Diver 5S Storm Petrel 1N Manx Shearwater 1N Sooty Shearwater 1S Gannet 48 mainly S Greylag 3 on sea Brent 1N Wigeon 1S Goldeneye 1N Common Scoter 16S Velvet Scoter 2 males N Arctic Skua 2S Great Skua 3S Pomarine Skua 25S inc several with full spoons Kittiwake 517S and now la piece de resistance Little Auk 298 mainly S and still passing when I left. I'm sure the others will top up this total later. My biggest day total in Lincs. Fabulous. Snow Bunting 1 in off Grey Seal 1 John |

Blimey - I was also Seawatching at Chapel Point from 09:00 but stayed on to 14:30. No Petrels or Shearwaters but not as many pairs of eyes: R T Diver - 3S G C Grebe - 2N Red-necked Grebe - 1N Gannet - 63S Goldeneye - 1N C Scoter - 13 Velvet Scoter - 2 males N Bonxie - 9S Pomarine Skua - 48S Med Gull - 1 3K45 kittiwake - 1200S Little Auk - c640 mostly S - most I can remember, at times there were almost too many to count |

Spent an hour or two at Huttoft car terrace this morning seeing much the same as Ed, John and all. Two of the Little Auks came right up to the car, I thought they were going to land, but they returned to sea. All auks were heading south. Also saw Little Auks at Churchill Lane and Saltfleet Haven (just to get them on my local patch list). Went back on beach at Saltfleet late afternoon, wind had died down and no auks seen. Geoff |
