Yesterday I found a broken egg outside my front door which looks from the books to be a house sparrow egg. The yolk appeared to be freshly broken inside.

This is also next to the soffits on the house where the house sparrows usually nest within the house. Will post a photo of the egg in the forum incase id is incorrect.

I suppose it could have been an egg from September that has just been found by a corvid, but wouldn't the contents eventually dry out??? I will keep an eye out for other potential breeding signs.
