At least 60 goldfinches twittering in the trees in Scunny precinct at dusk. Nice to see lots of people looking up and wondering what they were. Also a mistle thrush singing beautifully. Easily the highlight of a bike ride down the Trent bank and back which yielded just half a dozen redshank and partridge down Black Bank and a large flock of rooks near East Butterwick. Per mile biked there's more interesting bird life in Scunny town centre. Says a lot about the Lincolnshire countryside! Col I'm off back to black |
