TIME - 14:05 - 16:15

WEATHER - reasonably OK temperature-wise but very strong wind. Wish I'd put my hair in a ponytail before setting out........ :roll:

Star Performers - Golden Plover. Thousands of them in three large flocks.

Other species seen:

3000 Lapwing
20 Black-tailed Godwit
30 Redshank

20 Wigeon
Usual Mallards near the car park
20 Shelduck on lagoon, with more on the mudflats
Surprisingly, only 10 Canada Geese
40 Brent Geese

1 Second-Winter Lesser Black-backed Gull
Usual Black-headed Gulls
1 Little Egret
7 Little Grebes

Flock of 20 Goldfinch near car park
7 Tree Sparrow
1 Blue Tit
1 Robin
1 Wren
3 Mistle Thrush
10 Blackbirds
6 House Sparrow
2 flocks of Starlings

10 Pheasants in fields counted on outward and return journeys
3 Magpies
Carrion Crows seen on journey there
1 Jackdaw
3 Rooks

Flock of Linnets reported about 10 mins before I arrived.

No owls again :(
No raptors again :(

No luck seeing Kingfishers :(

This is the third week in a row that I haven't seen any Oystercatchers. Where have they all gone to?
