14.15 - 15.45 Alder Plantation nr landfill entrance Tawny owl (calling male), 1 Siskin, great tit, blue tit, 3 Blackbird, goldcrest Flooded fields of SSSI and surrounding land holding good numbers of loafing plovers 1500 Lapwing 500 Golden plover 5 Meadow pipit Skylark 3 Reed bunting (1 def male) 300 Woodpigeon 40 Great black-backed gulls (approx 25 adult, 15 imm) 300 Starling Trent approx 0.5m from topping the floodbank. Area looks good for SEO and Merlin. Peregrine known to winter and plovers did go up frequently but no marauding Merlin, PE, or sprawk seen. |
