Red-crested Pochard drake on the northern of the two south-western pits this afternoon. This the pit to the south of the first gate to the gravel works. Apparently it was on the Trust pit yesterday before shooters created havoc and everything flew as we arrived. Also yesterday were 30-40 Redshank - never seen such a large flock there.
Other ducks included 4 Goldeneye, 3 Shelduck, 50 or so Wigeon, as well as the usual Tufties, Pochard, Gadwall and Teal.
Male Sparrowhawk
