Wasp's Nest: 15.30 Barn Owl - 1 Nocton Fen: 15.45 x 16.30 Kestrel - 2 Grey Heron - 1 Whoopers - 14 including juvs of a swan species. Because some of them were laid down it's possible some may have been Mutes. I stand corrected if wrong. Max PS: it's holding up my hand time ![]() |

Hi Max You must have passed me today as I was Nocton Fen all afternoon! I could only manage 7 adult Whooper Swans with no juvs. To my limited knowledge, I dont think any juv Whoopers have been seen on the Fen all winter. However, I really dont want to get sucked into a discussion about who saw what. Also seen in addition to Max's sightings 5 Bewick's Swan (Branston Fen) 120+ Pink-footed Geese - over NW at around 1.00pm 1 Buzzard 1 Peregrine 1 Sparrowhawk Alas drew a blank on any S-e Owls or H Harriers. Regards Grahame |

It seems those seven Whooper have now been on Nocton Fen for several weeks. On my last three visits always in the same vicinity associating with some Mutes but unfortunately not with Bewicks |
