Male scaup on Jackson's Marsh this morning - it seems likely that this is the same individual that arrived at the beginning of the year and has undergone a rapid transformation from a tatty brown immature to plumage approaching adult male (although only bins views of the bird asleep this morn). I recall the ring necked duck made a similar rapid transformation from 'ugly duckling' status during Jan 07.
Also two slav grebes south offshore - per JPS.
