Post subject:  White-fronted Goose

Hagnaby Fen - 10.00 to 1300

Three White-fronted Geese were present and though on the far side of the lake gave good views from the hide. Also to be seen were:

Greylag Geese - many
Canada Geese - many
Mallards - many
Redshanks - c40
Shovelers - 2 pairs
Grey Heron - 1
Common Snipe - 1
Cormorant - 1
Magpie - 1
Tufted Ducks - several
Teal - several
Wigeon - many
Black-headed Gull - 1

Sorry numbers are not very precise but I don't specialise in counting heads. The area has now been tidied up. The path is clear, the hide has been re-painted and the car park cleared and gravelled. With my first sighting of White-fronted Geese altogether a very enjoyable morning!!
