Whilst enjoying my round of golf at Market Rasen this morning, a Great Spotted Woodpecker was happily drumming on Linwood Warren. Also Kingfisher flying on River Rase on the Racecourse. |

The simple answer is "no" Graham. I haven't seen or heard any since early last year. |

A quartet of Thrush species livened up the bottom of the garden in the Spring sunshine this morning. A recently arrived Song Thrush sang from the upper branches of a bare Field Maple - the undisputed property of a pair of Mistle Thrushes. They promptly appeared on the tree, but showed no aggression. They were all joined a few minutes later by a lone Redwing which perched close to the singing Song Thrush. Meanwhile, a pair of Blackbirds were rummaging around in the flower beds below. All in all,a pleasant early Spring scene of Thrush activity. Regards, Freddy |
