Is the GI still there hoping to go tomorrow (thursday) after work. Any directions would be gratefully recieved, also get the cattle egret if that is still there? many thanks Geoff. |

Went today. Park at Howden's Pullover and walk north along the sea bank. Keep walking and walking and walking and when you think you might be there it's still another 1/2 mile! You will come to a cattle fence, walk along side this, eventually you come to a track that leads off right to a modern RAF tower. The Glossy Ibis was on the next pool after this track. Good views, but in medium fog! It ate a really big frog while I was watching it! Also seen of note today - 13th Feb Hen Harrier 1 Male Brent Geese 9 Pied Wagtail 16 Greenshank 1 Water Pipit 1 Water Rail 2 Stonechat 1 Male Also, Cattle Egret still at Legbourne Andrew Chick |

Geoff, there have been no reports of the Glossy Ibis today but some people do not bother to keep the information services updated. I would work on the basis that it is still there. It is best accessed from the Howdens Pullover car park. Walk north from there for at least 1.5 miles until the control tower is seen. On Tuesday the bird was showing in the reedy pool immediately north of the track that leads from the sea bank towards the control tower. It is possible to park in the Stonebridge car park at Donna Nook and walk south for 45 minutes. I tried this on Monday and got wet feet as a lot of water is standing around. The Cattle Eget was again reported today in the same field at Legbourne. P.S. had not seen Andrew's message when I drafted this. Roy. |

If it's a very very very long walk as you all say, then for me to see it I'd need to hire a chopper, and I don't mean a bike. Can the next person who visits ask it to be more accessible to those who cannot walk extreme distances?

Ibis still feeding well at 17.00 Thurs. Also present... Little Egret 5, Grey Heron 1, Brent Geese 520, Golden Plover 35, Barn Owl 1, Richard's Pipit 1, seen on the seaward side of the sea bank 500m north from Howden's Pullover in the long grass. Cheers, Rob. |

Ibis still present Friday 15th at 12-1300 in pool north of track. Also 2-3 water pipit, 3 little egret, 1 greenshank, c100 Brent and single Richard's pipit on seawall about mid-way between the car park and the RAF tower - the pipit flushed to the marsh to seaward on our way out - feeding in long grass on landward edge of seabank on return Vin |
