Still getting Brambling in garden (every day since 29/1). Usually just a male or female by themselves, but 3 together (see album) on the 8th. Always with Chaffinches but never close to them! Regards, Bob |

The Brambling that I reported on the 6th have been daily visitors - slowly increasing in numbers - today counted 15 on the ground. Yesterday also produced a Siskin, a Yellowhammer and a Stonechat amongst the regulars. |

Mark - unable to compete with you number of Brambling but second male bird briefly early afternoon. Rarely see Yellowhammer in our garden though there are a few breeding pairs on the lane in the summer. Regards, David Wright |

Numbers have been building up here at the farm feeding station at Baumber this past week with circa a dozen today in a large flock of seedeaters comprising chaffinches, yellowhammers, tree sparrows, corn buntings and the odd goldfinch and greenfinch. All in all quite a colourful sight in the wintery scene today now that the breeding plumage is nearly complete. |
