The population has definitely expanded along our part of the coast, from only a few pairs in the early 1990's there are now 20 plus on the Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve. They have been pretty successful in evicting stock dove, kestrel and barn owls from nestboxes in recent years.

Also, over 100 passage birds noted moving south over the last week.

Regards

Kev

Around 15 pairs squabbling over nesting rights on St James' church tower in Louth, their movements watched with interest by the resident peregrine!

Hundreds of Jackdaws, accompanied by hundreds of Rooks, fly over our house in Bracebridge Heath every evening, moving West from their daytime feeding grounds. I presume they roost in the Hartsholme/Skellingthorpe area. (Some evenings the combined flocks number over 1000 birds - quite an impressive sight!).

Regards,

Freddy
