A fantastic day today! We stayed over in Mablethorpe last night after a family party so had early start (5.30am) and finished our days birding at 8.30pm- phew!!



Mablethorpe Beach:

6 Sanderling
2 Turnstone.

1 Chiffchaff singing near the Boating Lake




Kirkby Moor:

1 Green Woodpecker - seen, lots more calling
Numerous Chiffchaff - all singing heartily
2 Buzzards - displaying very low over the woods
1 Little Grebe
Pair of Tufted Duck
Pair Mallard
2 Sparrowhawk
2 Jays
Lots Blue Tit, Great Tit, Chaffinch, LT Tit etc
2 Goldcrest


Linwood Warren:

4 Green Woodpecker seen, a few more calling
2 GS Woodpecker
2 Treecreeper
2 Goldfinch
Lots Goldcrest high in the canopy
2 Coal Tit


Worlaby Carrs:

2 Kestrel
3 Barn Owl
1 GS Woodpecker
1 Mute Swan
Lots Lapwing displaying
A few Curlew
Large Flock Fieldfares



Far Ings:
quick visit there as darkness fell:

1 Tawny Owl
