A very enjoyable morning, cloudy after a very sunny start. 6.45am - lunchtime.




6 Chiffchaff
2 Willow Warbler
1 Treecreeper
4 Gadwall
4 Ruddy Duck (2m2f)
Lots Shoveller, Tufted, Teal, Mallard etc
2 Water Rail (heard)
1 Bittern
8 Pink Foots
Lots Greylag and Canadas
2 Pied Wagtail
2 Marsh Harrier over
2 Grey Heron
Lots Wren, Robin, Great Tit, Blue Tit & LT Tit
1 GS Woodpecker
3 Bullfinch (2m1f)
1 Kestrel
6 Goldfinch
2 Goldcrest
2 GC Grebe
2 Little Grebe
6 Cormorant
6 Reed Bunting (4m2f)
12 Tree Sparrow


I was treated to nearly a full hours display of THREE Kingfishers, chasing each other and very vocally too! They entertained constantly for myself and a few other onloookers :D
Also a female Chaffinch joined me in the hide, she was very bold and confiding as she collected spiders webs :D
