Excellent visible migration over last few days involving finches, corvids, pipits, thrushes and tits. Fewer birds on the move this morning but remarkably, a Raven calling and flying around the Freshwater Marsh before moving south down the East Dunes and then gaining height and veering off towards the Norfolk Coast over the Wash (c1320)

I rang the news into Johnnie Mack at Birdline NE so he could alert Norfolk and he informed me that presumably the same bird had passed through Spurn early morning. I would probably not have picked this bird up had it not been giving the typical call !!

Also, Long eared owl and firecrest.

Cheers

Kev

Am hoping to get away tomorrow(Tues). Is the firecrest still about? And what else is about please?

Feel the need for some sea air and some good birding.

Thanks in anticipation,

Hugh

At least one firecrest still present today and an interesting assortment of pipits on the Old Saltmarsh viible from South Marsh Road. Four water pipits were found late afternoon.

Morning and evening tides are worth watching for the wader roost (unless weather like this evenings wrecks your plans !)

Cheers

Kev
