I was surprised to find a day old Lapwing chick running down the minor road between Sixhills and Market Rasen this morning - I managed to usher it into a nearby arable field, much to the annoyance of the adults! Also two Buzzards at Stainton-le-Vale.

One of my students told me today that there were three lapwing chicks in one of their grass fields - her description of them and nearby adults was accurate.
