Andy, Thanks for the gen. I viewed the Bardney Main Pit from the River Witham bank 2.30 - 3.30pm today. The drake Garganey swam from the RH bank of the Pit out into the middle, giving excellent views. While I was 'scoping the Common Terns, they were joined by a solitary Black Tern which was still on the Pit when I left (3.30pm). There was also a single drake Wigeon among the usual ducks. plus Nocton Fen : Incl. Buzzard being mobbed by a Carrion Crow Mistle Thrush Little Owl and good numbers of House Martins and Swallows around Wasps Nest. Regards, Freddy |
