A Spotted Flycatcher in Swanpool wood this morning was a good patch year tick. This is the 1st I have had on my patch for 4 years and takes my patch year list up to 110. Also at Boultham mere this morning:- 1 Common Sandpiper 2 broods of young Black-headed Gulls on the raft 2 Common Terns sitting 47 Coot |

This afternoon the 4 young Black-headed Gulls had been blown off the raft by the stong winds and were in the water by the reed edge with the adults flying around over them. Unfortunately no way to get to them for a rescue. Also seen this afternoon:- 1 Hobby 1 Oystercatcher 1 Cuckoo 1 Yellow Wagtail |

I would have thought they would be fine - this seems to happen alot (the young swimming around), is there no way for them to get out of the water? |
