Sat here for an hour or two couldn't sleep, just been listening from the bedroom window to the first one I always hear the Blackbird. It's a a little after four and quite a pleasant early morning. The other sound in distance is the goods train going over Scotter Road viaduct, which must be a good two miles away.

The other morning was listening to two Blackbirds, it was 03.15, one was just outside bedroom window in a tree and the other must have been further up street. They were trying to out do each other, it was fascinating to hear them and even better later when I played the tape back!

One of the Blackbirds that regularly visit has got a ringtone off to a fine art. Was in garden a few weeks back when I heard a phone ringing or thought I did, looked up at next doors TV aerial and it was the Blackbird, first time I've heard a Blackie mimic a phone ringing.

Had five juvenile Blackbird in garden at weekend plus the parents which is always nice to see. Spotted another younger one yesterday in the lilac. Also had a juv Great Tit with parents, the juv attempted to have a bath but decided on a drink instead, maybe next time.

Isn't life great!!!!!!!!!!

Kind regards

John :D
