Could I ask, if this year there seem to be a large quantity of Goldfinches about. I have them around the garden and in adjacent fields and woodland. I have lived in Lincolnshire 10yrs but have never seen as many as this year.

5.0pm this evening had a pair of Turtle Doves inthe garden for some time.

There were a few singing in Boston town centre this afternoon..... I've not noticed any increase in goldfinch numbers in my garden... still getting approx. 6 per day.....

In the past few years, increasing numbers of Goldfinches have been attracted to garden feeding sites, particularly by niger seed. I have ringed over 100 already this year and over 200 last year. Prior to 2002 the most I ringed in a year was 28!!

Hi Stuart
Nice to hear from you. I get up around Wragby, Sotby and Hatton around the lanes there. I have seen quite large flocks.
I am getting up to a dozen in the garden at a time.

There do seem to be many fly overs - that nice chinking sound being a dead give away
Greece is the place for them
