30 July 08 Evening circuit of Marton village taking in River Trent floodbank produced 1 greenshank, 1 green sandpiper and at least 7 common sandpipers including one sitting on branch floating up the Trent! Other birds included turtle dove (still purring), 80 lapwings, oystercatcher, little owl, kingfisher, 2 yellow wagtails and large numbers of hirundines and swifts. Cheers Brian |
