Following the news that the Black Stork at Spurn Point had flown south-east towards Lincolnshire at 0955, Linda & I decided to head for the coast to see if the 'mega' could be re-found. I also made 'phone calls to several other Lincs. birders that I thought might be near the coast so that they could watch out for it. No sign of the stork in visits to Horseshoe Point, North Cotes Point, Grainthorpe Haven, Paradise Pool, Howdens Pullover and Rimac. We met up with Keith Scott at Grainthorpe - Keith had also checked Cleethorpes, Humberston Fitties & Tetney Marshes. Steve Meek was sea watching at Trusthorpe. Whilst at Grainthorpe we saw the following; 2 Greenshanks 3 Marsh Harriers (1 female - very pale, and 2 juvs.) 5 Wheatears Numerous Little Egrets Roy |

Ospreys were seen passing through Gib at 1030 and 1530 by birders looking skyward - but nothing larger ! Cheers Kev |

Looks like, as ever, the bird managed to slip in and out of Lincs without detection: 11:04 03/09/08 Black Stork Norfolk Great Yarmouth 10:45 just east of Great Yarmouth Cemetery North Section circling over beach |

Frustrating! Looks like the bird must have flown overland after crossing the Humber. I can't believe that it went all the way round the coast to Yarmouth and got missed. Roy |
