A very cloudy dull morning there today.

Flock of 12 noisy Fieldfare on outskirts of reserve.(is winter coming too quickly?? :( )
1 Swallow
1 Swift (latest I have seen one)
6 House Martin
6 Sand Martin
1 Sparrowhawk
c200 Goldfinch
20 Redshank
Lots BH Gull and Shelduck
a few Gadwall, Pochard etc
6 Pied Wag ( 3 of them floating about on a piece of wood as the tide went out :lol: )
1 Yellow Wag
4 Grey Heron
8 Robin
2 Willow Tit
2 Great tit
4 Blueys
1 Kingfisher


Osprey not seen over Far Ings but one reported to be perched on a telegraph post in the Pasture Road area of Barton at 10.45am

Not sure winter is coming too early, there haven't been any other Fieldfares reported anywhere on the east coast from Shetland to Kent. So don't worry yet. One or two Redwings though as you'd expect at this time of year.

I must admit I was very surprised to see them, their chattering atop of a small tree alerted me and stopped me in my tracks. I looked and counted them through the binoculars before they took flight.Definately Fieldfares.
