back to my patch today eager and keen to go get them,
11 00hrs onwards till 13.30 hrs thats all i could spare today.
watched 3 coats of paint dry absolutely dead nothing, no buzzard or marsh harrier and very little else for 1.5 hrs.
then a peregrine was sighted fighting with 2 kestrel horseshoe point end after a short time peregrine
swooped over the marsh nearer to me and up popped the spoonbill. quick fly around then back down the same dyke i saw it go into yesterday. The dyke that runs from grainthorpe haven turns sharply north and where the water opens to the sea it appears to be in that area probably viewable best from a walk out from horseshoe point looking back towards pyes hall. good scope required i think.
apart from small numbers of common species
spoonbill 12.35hrs
peregrine
kestrel 2
kingfisher
2 whinchat
wheatear
thats about it very quite. bumped into a fellow birder coming from pyes hall end who said he had
hobby
redstart
pied flys
wheatears
and a few common migrants

bloody hell my patch can be hard work

terry whalin
