Still there at dusk.

Plus Tree Pipit and Marsh Harrier over, and three Little Stints also on reservoir.

At Freiston this morning (20/9/08);

Pectoral Sandpiper - juv on the lagoon. Generally elusive. Presumably left with the other waders as the tide dropped (per Steve Keightley)
One dark-phase juv honey buzzard south at 09:30
Marsh harrier - 3 south
Little stint - about 10
Curlew sandpiper - 2
No sign of yesterday's red-necked phalarope on the reservoir

The reserve was heaving first thing. Walked into the hide about 10 this morning where a guy was claiming a wood sandpiper. It was in fact a dunlin!

Lots of waders but I was really to late - no sooner than i had settled down and they were off

Marsh Harrier 2
Sparrowhawk 1
Hobby 1
plenty of Brent geese
Pink Footed Goose 1 (is this the first of the winter?)
Little Stint 4 on reservoir (15:00)
Pectoral Sandpiper 1 on the reservoir from 14:30
Greenshank
Litttle Egrets 20
No sign of the Phalerope at all

Oh * - gripped off and dipped out!

Were you the guy with the other Opticron scope?

I do have an Opticron scope Katherine but I dont think it was me that you saw as I was down by the resevoir for the last hour and a half I was at Frieston. I certainly didn't see you. All I saw down there were a couple of dog walkers

There was a lot of swallows moving south late on in my visit but nothing when I arrived - also some sand and house martins.

A female Marsh Harrier also showed briefly before dropping over the far side of the sea bank

The Red-necked Phalarope was still present at Freiston this afternoon.
It was on the 'Shooting Pool' with 4 Little Stints.
The Shooters Pool is about a mile from the car park. Take the footpath
that is signed 'Wetland Way' and view the pool from the bank top by the gates
near the prison.
I am looking forward to seeing the results of your digiscoping efforts Colin!
