Post subject:  A good day at Donna

A nice selection of birds in the Donna Nook/Pyes Hall are today, spoiled a bit by the murky conditions.

2 Pallas's Warblers - someone said they saw 3
2 Ring Ouzels
1 Long-eared Owl - perched in small bush beyond Pyes.
1 Short-eared Owl hunting opposite Pyes.
2 Woodcock
Lots of Goldcrests - some in the grass at your feet
Lots of Robins and Blackbirds
1 male Blackcap
An unexpected Glaucous Gull in the area of the seal wardens hut - see album

Keith Robinson reported a Long-tailed Duck at Covenham Reservoir.
Dick Lorand reported a Yellow-browed warbler at Horseshoe Point and a single Waxwing, briefly, at Tetney sluice gates. Incidentally, it was Dick who had the Bluethroat at Horseshoe yesterday.
