Whilst watching for the Rough-leg at Farforth, Keith Robinson had a phone call from Guy Langan to say he had found a Grey Phal at Covenham.
We went over to see it and found it in the NE corner feeding on the concrete bank, it occasionally went on the water but spent most of the time on the weedy concrete bank. It was in the vicinity of Redshank and tended to fly when they were spooked. When we left it was half way down the west bank.
Also present were 1 Dunlin & 2 Grey Wagtails.

With Keith Robinson & Richard Jackson.

On the west side of the reservoir until about 11 then it flew off towards the farm. It was then a few hundred yards from the farm corner on the south side

There was also a female long tailed duck with a large flock of coot when I arrived in a snowstorm about 09:30. It disappeared later in the morning
