Thought I heard a Pallas's warbler calling repeatedly adjacent to Sykes Farm this afternoon. Was amazed to realise that the call was coming from a chiffchaff low down in brambles etc - I have never heard a chiff calling like this before ! Also about, a single mobile waxwing and a slight increase in numbers of blackbirds and woodcock in areas visited. Cheers Kev |
