I found a juv. Rough-legged Buzzard at Worlaby Carrs this morning, the bird was first seen at 09.50 near the railway crossing, down towards the river,it then landed on a hawthorn bush, but was then disturbed by a passing train. It then flew into the wet field to the west of the car-park,and was watched soaring around with a Common Buzzard,it then flew over the long wood which runs adjacent to the wet field, and i did not see it after this. The bird was looked for and eventually re-located in the area where i had seen it disappear, and was seen by Neil Drinkall,Dean Eades and Simon Spavin. To get to this area walk south from the car-park along the side of the land drain for about a quarter of a mile, past the afore mentioned long wood and view the farmland here, the bird of course could range over anywhere on the carrs,as visitors will know it is an excellant area for raptors.By no means what so ever must anyone go onto the farmland or off this path,as we have already had an altercation with a mardy gamekeeper this morning.

Regards

Steve
