Week ahead weather forecast was highly promising but as it got nearer, south-westerlies were the order of the day. As a result, there were fewer birds about than in previous years. Over 450 birds were ringed but over half of those were tape-lured on the 24th when there was a huge passage of mainly Sand and House Martins. Other "highlights" included a Mute Swan, 50 Dunnocks!, 1 Pied Flycatcher, about 40 Willow Warblers, 1 Redstart, 1 Tree Pipit, 5 Redshanks and a Dunlin. It was nice to see Russell and a group of Grimsby birders on the Sunday despite only being able to show them a Lesser Whitethroat!
