I have received the ringing details for a Swedish-ringed Goldcrest caught at Seacroft on 05/11/2008, and was surprised to find that it had been ringed on 05/10/2008 at 65 degrees and 34 minutes North right up on the Swedish/Finnish border. The ringing site is less than 1 degree from the Arctic Circle, and Mark Grantham at the BTO has confirmed that this is the most northerly origin of any foreign-ringed Goldcrest to be found in Britain. Only three have travelled a greater distance, (originating from further East) - one from Finland and two from Russia. Alan |

Great record! Make the most of it Alan, if these West winds continue there may not be any Goldcrests on the coast this year?? Andrew |
