Following the first Cetti's Warbler caught at Marston in January this year, Keith caught two more there yesterday. All three birds have been females. Interestingly, one of the two birds caught yesterday (same net but 2 hours apart) was a control (bird already ringed from somewhere else). The original ringing details will be interesting and may shed some light on the origin of the few autumn records that we get in Lincolnshire. We will post the details on here when we get them.

They are obviously on the move. Martin Sizer ringed another female at Donna Nook yesterday - only the 3rd. for the site.

Another was ringed at Gibraltar Point on 26th - a fifth record for the Observatory.

We have found out that the Cetti's Warbler controlled at Marston had been ringed as a juvenile at Rye Meads in Hertfordshire in July 2009. Further details can be found on the BTO ringing web blog at

www.btoringing.blogspot.com

Thanks due to Mark Grantham for chasing this up.
