Post subject:  Interesting Cormorant Movements

We have recently received notification that a Cormorant found dead at Goulceby in December 2010 was ringed as a nestling in Denmark on 26/5/2010. I saw on the BTO website another found dead at Asterby, the next village to Goulceby, on 24/8/2010 was ringed as a nestling two months earlier at Puffin Island, Anglesey. With the Danish bird moving in a south westerly direction and the Anglesey bird travelling due east there is still a lot to be learned about their post juvenile dispersal.
