It would appear that the Siskin that we caught in Bob Sheppard's Bourne garden in 2006 having been ringed in the Czech Republic was not a fluke as we have now had one go the other way - but 500km further east, being found half way across Slovakia. This last bird was ringed on 29/03/2013 and was found near Poprad in Slovakia in April 2014. The vast majority of Siskins that pass through Bourne Wood are of the Scottish breeding population, but presumably we get a few birds late in Spring that are probably of Swedish/Finnish origin that winter further east/west in subsequent winters.
I think this is the first recovery of a British-ringed Siskin to Slovakia.
