At Bourne it would appear that many of the Siskins present from March moved on during the first week of April to be replaced by more birds from further south. Judging from retrap data and sight records, many (most?) of the 300 or so ringed during March were still around to the beginning of April, but by 5th there were few of the original birds around and they appeared to have been replaced by a new influx - and another 120 or so have been ringed. Siskins provide a good percentage of recoveries (comparatively for a small bird) so we can expect a few recoveries from the 420+ we have ringed so far this year.
