noticed 2 dead badgers by the road whilst travelling to the coast yesterday ( sunday )

1 at Grimblethorpe ( between Wragby and Louth ) and 1 on the Louth
bypass.

Roadside badgers are often dumped by badger baiters I'm afraid to disguise their activities - or so I've been told!

Seen a large number of dead badgers on the roadside this winter some quite a distance from any badger like habitat, this fits in with the badger baiting theory.

Had a chat with a keeper just outside Grantham a while back regarding this, he even gets them thrown onto his driveway !

I've seen lots of dead Bdagers nationwide this winter/spring. whilst baiters may account for a small proprortion of them, most are simply the result of the hard weather we've had. The frozen ground means the Brocks can't dig as easily for their favourite prey, earthworms, and are forced into travelling further afield for food.They the come into contact with roads and get squashed !

Saw an article in a daily paper a few weeks ago asking for all sightings of dead badgers to be reported to the local Police Wildlife Officer, it was to do with the badger baiting theory.
