It's the luck of the draw. We was on Otter Watch from 14.15 to 18.45 at the Grebe Lake bench seat and of course it never showed. We had been told the above news. Hoping to get one on our next visit.

Regards

John :(

It's the first time I've ever seen otters in the wild and it was a magical couple of hours watching this pair.

Unlike yesterday they were not superb views they were distant! I arrived at 0810 and set up camp on the bench seat at the Grebe Lake and stayed till 1745 which is a very long time. Thankfully I was never short of company and those who came along included Steve R, Alan & Carol Hudson, June & Keith Scarrott, Dave Newby, Edmund Hawkes and quite a lot more who I didn't get their names. We chatted about this and that hoping the pair would show but alas they only appeared for no more than a minute at the far northern end and after spending almost ten hours on Otter Watch I and most of those mentioned above retired and went home. Thankfully I did get to see the pair! :D

After returning home and throughout the evening I felt and still do feel totally shattered. And other than getting up to stretch my legs and relieve myself I never moved. Was it worth it, at this time I have to say no, but if I'd had the type of views that Roger and Steve had the days before I would think differently.

Good luck to those visiting over the weekend, I'm taking a well earnt rest!

Kind regards

John

Watched a single one today from 0730 to 0840 on Grebe Lake. Click on my link for shots I got of 'em. They're not "top notch" shots, but I'm happy wiv 'em.

Had a report of a dead adult otter in the Messingham area today.

It was found at the side of the road.
