1 mink seen in edge of reeds, just left of hide, this afternoon. Why can't DEFRA concentrate on wiping these out? They do far more harm than any Ruddy Ducks.

Unfortunately in the current climate it is unlikely a government department such as DEFRA will have sufficient funds to deal with the problem of mink. They have become far too well established in many areas for eradication to be practical, due to the intensive effort needed firstly for monitoring and then trapping. It seems they may well be here to stay.
