Up to 12 Hares (and 6 Red-legged Partridges) were viewable from some upstairs windows this morning (Sun) in our house in Bracebridge Heath which overlooks a field with sprouting cereal. Fortunately, the farmer has now placed a lockable iron bar across the track entrance from the B 1131 to prevent illegal hare coursing. In the past, my wife and I have seen car headlights in the field at night on more than one occasion.
