On Sunday 29th April there was an old buck Muntjac on the Orchid Ride at Chambers Farm Wood. It was limping and had obviously been in a fight with something judging by a torn ear! Ron Fox told me it had been feeding in the gardens of the nearby cottages for a few days and was far from timid.

3 Muntjac on the main ride yesterday (30th). Looked like a family group. No sign of any injuries. Also heard one 'barking'.

Says Dave Rook

Incedently, does anyone know the current Northern limit of the Muntjac population in the UK? I saw one earlier in the year at Bradley woods. This is the most Northern I've seen them.

Cheers,
Alan
