Post subject:  North Lincs Deer

Was driving along the road from Caistor to Kirmington yesterday when a stag deer ran across the road around 100 yrds in front of me, I didn't notice the flat antlers of a Fallow deer but it had large Antlers and was around a metre tall at a guess :)

Has anybody got any ideas on what Deer species are around there?

Thanks

As far as I'm aware, 3 species around that area: Fallow, Roe and Muntjac.

From waht you say almost certainly a Fallow Deer then as Muntjac and Roe are both small, 20" and 26" at the shoulder respectively and both with short horns which in the case of Roe should have been shed by now.
