Daytime
Hummingbird hawk nectaring at white valerian (6pm).
Tried-out MV bulb again in garden, carefully trying to screen it off from neighbours.
Another good selection of moths in morning with about 80 species including:

Elephant hawk 13
Poplar hawk 1
Privet hawk 1
Calamotropha paludella 1female (Nb species). Needs confirmation.
Leopard moth 1
Scarce footman 3
Buff arches 3
Coronet 2
Barred yellow 1
Double square-spot 3
Dot moth 2
Endotricha flammealis 1
Yellowtail 1
Ruby tiger 2
Wormwood pug 2
Scalloped oak 1
Small blood-vein 2
Shark 1
Sycamore 2
Miller 2
Plain Golden Y 1
Small dotted buff 2
Meal moth 1
Udea lutealis 1
Most abundant moths were dark arches, riband wave, uncertain, smoky wainscot and common footman.
