Adult on mint flowers in my garden today. The NBN Gateway map has no records indicated in Lincolnshire and there is no records on the Forum. Photo posted in album.

Hi David,

I must admit I'm rather disapointed with the NBN moth records for Lincolnshire so far. I've had this moth quite frequently in my garden too. It is listed as 'widespread and fairly common' according to 'The Butterflies and Moths of Lincolnshire' by Rex Johnson, revised by Colin Smith.

I suggest your photograph in the photo album is worn silver Y.

Best wishes,

John

Thank you John, I was suspicious of the distribution of the moth (and others) on the NBN Gateway map. Your thoughts on the other moth being a Silver Y are the same as several replies on the Back Garden Moths Community Forum.

Regards

David
