Marton
27 August 2010
Moth-trap (15watt actinic) out overnight in garden produced the following:
Orange swift 1
Flounced rustic 3
Vine's rustic 3
Common wainscot 1
Lesser broad bordered yellow underwing 1
Lesser yellow underwing 5
Large yellow underwing 10
Garden pebble 1
Shuttle-shaped dart 1
Green carpet 1
Turnip moth 7
Small square-spot 2
Setaceous hebrew character 9
Also, during day had another hummingbird hawk-moth sighting.

A definite decline in numbers/diversity in last few weeks. Autumn has arrived!

The colony of Pyrausta aurata on our garden mint/marjoram patch seems to have done
well this year with 4-5 regularly seen during sunny periods.

Cheers
Brian
