A brief visit to Covenham Reservoir this morning, concentrating on the embankment near the car park and water sports centre, failed to produce any Green Hairstreaks. The early emergence of this species and subsequent poor weather during May appears to have curtailed the flight period prematurely at this particular site.

Species seen included the following:

Brown Argus - 1
Common Blue - 26
Orange Tip - 1
Large Skipper - 1
Small heath - 1
Small Copper - 2
Large White - 1

Regards

Dave, with Keith Robinson
